Notarised translation Georgia asks for, and the order to do it in
Three steps that look like one, done in the wrong order by almost everyone.

Notarised translation Georgia requires is the third of three steps, and the one people reach first. A foreign document has to be apostilled in the country that issued it, then translated into Georgian, then certified by a Georgian notary. Skip the first and the other two are wasted.
Notarised translation Georgia accepts: the order to do it in
The apostille goes on the original, at home. Translating before apostilling means the apostille is not covered by the translation, and the office sends you back. This is the single most common reason a first application is rejected at the counter.
Some countries are slow with apostilles. Start there, weeks before you fly.
What the notary is actually certifying
Not the accuracy of the translation in any deep sense. The notary certifies the translator's signature and identity. So a fluent translation by a friend has no standing, however good it is, and a mediocre one by a registered translator does.
Which documents need it
The ones issued outside Georgia: birth and marriage certificates, police certificates, diplomas, company documents, anything from a foreign authority. Documents issued in Georgia do not need any of this.
Translate only what the list asks for. Translating a folder of extras is a common and avoidable cost.
Dates
An apostille does not expire, but the document under it might. Police certificates and civil-status extracts are often expected to be recent, so getting them early can work against you. Check how old your oldest document will be on the day you file.
