Georgia residency agency work is mostly document work. Choosing the route you qualify for, getting the file complete before it is filed, and following it to the decision. The decision itself belongs to the Public Service Development Agency, not to us.
Georgia changed its residency rules in 2025 and 2026. A lot of what is online describes the old ones.

Georgia residency agency: what we actually file
Nine steps, in the order they happen.
- The route. Thirteen permit types exist. Which one fits depends on how you earn, not on which sounds best.
- The document check, before you travel. This is where most refusals are avoided.
- Certified Georgian translations and the notary work that goes with them.
- The right to work, where your route needs it. Since 1 March 2026 that is a separate permission from the residence permit (Law on Labour Migration).
- Filing at the Public Service Hall.
- Follow-up until the decision, including anything the Agency asks for mid-file.
- Collecting the residence card.
- All of it in English.

What a residency agency cannot do
Worth saying plainly, because the market is not always plain about it.

An agency is the right fit for a straightforward filing. A Georgian lawyer is better when there is a dispute, a refusal to appeal, a criminal record question, or a corporate structure that needs an opinion rather than a form.

Common questions
- Who can handle a Georgian residence permit application from start to finish?
- An agency or a law firm can prepare and file the whole thing. We choose the route, check the documents before you travel, arrange certified translation and notary work, file at the Public Service Hall, and follow the file to the decision. The decision itself is the Agency’s, not ours.
- Do I need an agency in Tbilisi, or can I file myself?
- You can file yourself. Most refusals we see come from an incomplete file or from filing under the wrong route, and both are avoidable. If your case is simple and your Georgian is good, doing it yourself is reasonable.
- What does a Georgia residency agency cost?
- Our Residence Permit Package is from USD 890 and the Business Setup Package from USD 490. Georgian state fees are paid to the Public Service Hall and shown separately: GEL 300 for a decision in 30 days, GEL 600 in 10.
- Can an agency guarantee the permit?
- No, and anyone who does is overselling. The decision belongs to the Public Service Development Agency. What an agency controls is whether the file is complete, correct and filed under a route you qualify for.
